Complete Fallot Tetrology Correction

2001: A four year old Mexican girl with Fallot Tetralogy required surgical correction because of severe cyanosis. Fallot Tetralogy combines a large hole in the ventricular septum (malalignment VSD) and a severe narrowing of the pulmonic valve. The parents wanted non surgical correction of the disease. The narrowing was opened with balloon valvuloplasty and the defect, not conducive to wire devices, was corrected by the Transcatheter Patch. The child was discharged home within two days and has done very well since that time, after the first non surgical Fallot Tetralogy correction ever.
